I have always loved taking photos--the composition, the lighting, the storytelling. It wasn't until I had kids that I became obsessed with recording all the little details.

A while back I came across a photo of my daughter from when she was three and I realized that I had forgotten that day, that hairstyle and that tutu she kept on her tiny body for three weeks straight, even at school. Without the photograph I might have lost it all.

Now she is nine and my son is four and I'm beginning to understand the weight that those kinds of details carry in our everyday lives. I now make an effort to stop and take notice, to try and log these moments as memories, but just in case, my camera's always ready.
